Be joyful

Though you have considered all the facts

Wendell Berry

Recently, a few people have told me I should be writing down my stories. Years ago I was briefly in a men's group with a Texan named Daryl and he said "If three people tell you you're a horse's ass, it's time to saddle up."

One problem - this cowboy clearly lacks a saddle.

But I figure this way anybody that wants to can ride along - or not.

If the saddle in that weak-ass metaphor stands for writing skill and training, my sister Deb had both. She was 59 when we lost her in 2013. I miss her like crazy. We were only 16 months apart and we went through some tough stuff together when we were little. She used writing to expunge demons. I have one file that I titled "Too Hard to Read." If you want to read those you will have to come see me, but some of the rest I'm going to post. To go straight to hers, click on "posts" above,  then  "Deb's Posts".

If you read enough of mine, you will run across the same story in different posts. That's because some of these missives were originally written to go off in different directions.  I apologize if it's annoying, but at least it shows that I enjoyed them and it may increase the likelihood of their being true.

"Hope"  is the thing with feathers

that perches in the soul -

And sings the tune without the words

There is no Hope....
But I Could be Wrong

I see myself as a link between the old folks who grew up using horses on the farm and the young folks who give me hope today. I learned so much from those old timers. They "paid it forward". Now I'm trying to do the same.
